Best view in town

I know how popular the London Eye is, and I did not want to miss out on going for a ride on it while I was in London. So, I made sure to book our London Eye entry ticket in advance, and I’m so glad that I did. My family particularly enjoyed pointing out all the landmarks we saw, such as Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, and Westminster Abbey, while in the air. With our ticket, we also just walked right in at our time slot and I’m so glad I could experience the beautiful views without being annoyed at the waiting.

Best anniversary gift!

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary, so I wanted to treat him to something special. I found this London Eye ticket and booked it for us as a surprise gift. We went in the evening and could not get over how beautiful Big Ben looked at sunset! It was truly an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives.

360-DEGREE VIEWS OF LONDON

Your London Eye Discounted Ticket gives you access to the best views of the city! Located right at the heart of London, the London Eye is the prime spot for getting the best views and for taking the best photos. Witness the lively energy of the city unfold below you as the wheel gradually rotates and gives you a picturesque view of the city from all angles. Take in the gorgeous views of the city skyline and the River Thames - England’s longest river that is crossed by over 200 bridges. One of those bridges is the Tower Bridge, which you can also spot on the London Eye.

LOOK AT FAMOUS LANDMARKS

While on the wheel, you can spot many famous London landmarks, such as the Houses of Parliament, commonly known as the Place of Westminster. At over 1000 years old, it still serves as a meeting place for the Parliament of the United Kingdom today. Right next to it, you can also see one of the most famous clock towers in the world - Big Ben. At 96 meters tall, it’s pretty hard to miss it. While soaring on the London Eye, make sure to also spot Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Buckingham Palace, where the royals reside.

ONE OF THE WORLD'S TALLEST OBSERVATION WHEELS

The London Eye is not just about the views. It’s also about the special experience of being 443 feet (135 meters) in the air. That’s a pretty unique sensation that you can’t experience in a lot of places. At the time it was built, the London Eye was the tallest observation wheel in the world, and it held that title until 2006 when a taller wheel, the Star of Nanchang, was built in China at 525 feet (160 meters). It is often credited with reviving Ferris wheel construction worldwide as it showed how popular it can be.

Did you know that the London Eye was supposed to be moved after five years?

Built to celebrate the start of the new millennium, the London Eye’s construction started in 1998 and was launched in 2000. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, the London Eye was assembled in a horizontal position over the River Thames before being pulled upright to stand at 443 feet (135 meters). After its launch, it was intended to stay in that location for five years before being taken down and moved to a different location.

However, the London Eye remains in its place to this day because of its popularity and central position, which is easily accessible by public transportation and offers the best views of all the most famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, and Tower Bridge.
