I know how popular the London Eye is, and I did not want to miss out on going for a ride on it while I was in London. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, the London Eye was assembled in a horizontal position over the River Thames before being pulled upright to stand at 443 feet (135 meters). After its launch, it was intended to stay in that location for five years before being taken down and moved to a different location.
